Seealpsee and Escher

It is in the Appenzell region that is very "folkloristic", let's say it is Switzerland as you imagine it. The hike starts in Wasserauen 850m where you'll find a large parking lot at the bottom of the cable car. From there you head off the end of the valley. The first part of the hike goes via grassy pastures to the Seealpsee. It is the lake depicted on the Appenzeller Bien cans! And looks very beautiful. You'll find make picnic spots and also a hut on the lake shores. This first part takes 3km and 280m uphill so about 45min. If you're like you might also find some Swiss horn players! Climbing Säntis – A Hike into the Clouds and a Surreal Surprise at the Summit

I finally found the perfect opportunity when I had to travel to Nevegal in the Dolomites for summer holidays. My family had already left before me, meaning I was alone and free to make a detour. I left after work one evening and camped near Zug to get a head start. The hike itself isn’t particularly long, and under normal circumstances, there would be no need to camp beforehand. However, since I had a 6-7 hour drive to Nevegal after the climb, I wanted to start early to make the most of the day.
